Bernard S. Clevens

Founder

Mr. Clevens began providing real estate consulting services in 2017. He rebranded in 2022 as Thematic Capital Group to formalize his consulting work and to create a holding company for his investments.

His career includes stints at some of the nation’s top real estate and private equity companies. He began his career in Denver, Colorado working in real estate development for a middle-market real estate private equity company. He led the financial modeling, entitlement process, and project execution for a Harley-Davidson sales facility build-to-suit, medical office build-to-suit, and industrial spec development and also supported the capital sourcing efforts for two new funds.

He then joined Prologis (NYSE: PLD), the global leader in logistics real estate, focusing on acquisitions and dispositions of property, portfolios, and companies. While there, he led the financial modeling, investment committee presentations, due diligence, and closing for 50+ industrial real estate acquisitions and dispositions totaling $3.2B across 66M square feet in North America. He was a key member of the team responsible for the financial analysis that underpinned the company’s M&A activity, including the $9B acquisition of DCT, the $4B acquisition of Industrial Property, the $14B acquisition of Liberty Property Trust, and the competitive bidding for GLP, which lost to Blackstone for $18.3B. He also assisted with 1031 planning, overseeing the execution of over 80 exchanges.

Mr. Clevens is a 2015 graduate of Bowdoin College and a 2022 graduate of Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. He co-founded the Emory Real Estate Conference in 2022 which featured Sam Zell in its inaugural year. He finds great joy in continuing to steward the conference planning and execution today.

He splits time between Atlanta, Georgia and Melbourne, Florida with his wife, two children and two dogs.

Shaun Champaneria

Shaun joined Thematic Capital Group in 2021. Prior to joining TCG, Shaun worked with large real estate owners and operators to implement telecom asset optimization strategies. His clients included First Capital REIT, 99 Cents Only Stores (Ares Management), Kushner Companies, and many more. While at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, Shaun gained experience in investment banking and held a role in Investor Relations for a Fortune 200 company with revenues in excess of $21B. In his free time he enjoys debugging clients’ models, golf, exercise, and the sauna. Shaun received his Bachelor of Science from Union College and his Master’s in Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Stan Salomon

Stan has almost 20 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate finance, acquisitions, and asset management. His professional history includes multifamily & commercial developers and owners, institutional investors, a regional residential land development firm, and a national shopping mall chain developer & operator. Duties have ranged from complex underwriting & modeling of development and acquisitions, sourcing new acquisitions, capital transactions, raising debt & equity, preparing debt packages & pitchbooks, asset management for commercial & multifamily properties, leasing, lender compliance analysis, and creating annual business plans. Stan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Maryland.

Ashley Carradine

Ashley brings over a decade of expertise in real estate investment, corporate strategy, and capital markets. Her wide-ranging proficiency covers acquisitions, development, asset management, and GP/LP equity investments. As a crucial member of the finance team at two venture-backed technology start-ups, Ashley played a vital role in developing corporate strategies and supporting the successful scaling of these companies through multiple fundraising rounds, from early-stage A funding to later-stage C funding. Ashley's passion for the intersection of technology, data, and business strategy drives her opportunistic approach to investing.
